Since this year is a leap year, I am going to call this project 366, not 365. I wouldn’t want to confuse anyone…especially me! These past two weeks flew by; I really can’t believe we are at the end of January already. I am pleased to see that it is still light at 5pm. That means summer is just around the corner! I know, I know, it is six months away; I just love summer!

Jan. 15 | I am speechless. A good friend surprised me with a Bamboo Tablet! I have been wanting one for so long…I can’t wait to play with it. Jan. 16 | My new business cards and just in time! Jan. 17 | My rough draft of Randal + Sarah’s blog post. Since I tend to blog about a session/wedding several weeks after the date, I forget the things I want to share. Jan.18 |Sigh…a monthly battle I have: collecting calendars from my parents. Jan. 19 | Brrr! It wasn’t really 19 degrees; it sure felt like it though! Jan. 20 | It has been a pretty dry winter thus far. Today the rain arrived. Jan. 21 | A blackberry pie I made for my dad. It was dang tasty if I do say so myself!

Jan. 22 | Silly cat! She loves laying on her back playing with anything that dangles, in this case my camera bag straps. Jan. 23 | Next on my to-read list… Jan. 24 | What a gorgeous sunset! Jan. 25 | One of the kiddos at work (1st grade) said that he wanted to give me his Facebook address. After I stopped laughing, he handed me this Post-It. Jan. 26 | It is so refreshing to see credit given when credit is due. Thank youChelsea! Jan. 27 | Cupcakes for snack. =) Jan. 28 | I saw these cards today on Facebook and I have to make them!

Last year flew by! I can’t believe I am starting another 365 Project already, actually a 366 Project, since this year is a Leap Year. All of your comments inspired me to keep it going. I have a better system in place too; an upgraded phone, an app on my phone that helps keep me organized, and an amazing new camera! I am also going to include several fun month-long photo challenges. Without further adieu, welcome to this year’s project!

Jan. 1 |2012 started with a bang…literally. Shortly after midnight, I saw fireworks, heard shots fired into the night, and saw a killer shooting star. The next morning we headed over to Red Hawk for a yummy Champagne brunch; whay a great way to start 2012. Jan. 2 |A pretty sunset. Jan. 3 |My mom lent me this book. I think I started crying around page 176. Even though it made me cry, I thought it was a good book. Jan. 4 |Meet Fred, our class spider. The kids were freaked out that I named this little guy. They actually thought I was going to keep him. My plan included taking him outside and setting him free. However, I am pretty sure one of my coworkers got to him first. My coworkers aren’t fans of having a ‘pet’ spider. Jan. 5 |Desatoya is such a nut. She dragged that thing all the way down the stairs when she was playing with it. Jan. 6 |Marketing research – working on my 2012 Blog/Marketing Calendar. Jan. 7|Randal & Sarah enjoy their long-awaited day. Sigh…could they be any more beautiful?

Jan. 8 |Happy birthday Elvis! The King would have been 77 today. Man, I love his music. Jan. 9|Time to update my to-do board for 2012. It is going to be a great year for CAP! Jan. 10 | Some sweet kicks for my bestest. Jan. 11 |A gift from one of my families. I don’t have a lot of luck with orchids…might have to do some research so I don’t kill it! Jan. 12 | Yes! UPS finally delivered! Jan. 13 | Welcome to the family! The Boy gave me a Nikon D300s; I was speechless, and then I cried. I am beyond excited to play with it! Jan. 14 | I had two sessions today, kiddos & a double senior session. Yay!

Have a great week!

Happy New Year! While 2011 was a great year, I can’t help but get excited for this year. A new year is a fresh start for some, making resolutions and keeping them for others, and maybe a little bit of both for me. A friend of mine posted a note on Facebook the other day, and she stirred something in me. Your life is what you make it. Choose to be positive; choose to be happy; if changes need to happen, make them….it is all up to you.

If you told me last January 1st the things that I would do and accomplish in 2011, I wouldn’t have believed you. Last year brought more highs than lows, and since I choose not to focus on the lows, I’ll share some of my highs with you.

Traveled to Maui for my first destination wedding and returned to Billings, MT, for several sessions

My clients are the best. That may not seem like a high, but it is.

Bought a new car, and I love it

Even though I have been a photographer for several years, I finally feel like I am one

Finished five quilts…mine is next!

Surrounded myself with a great core group of friends who encourage and inspire me daily

Took over 35,000 shots; maybe that is the reason my shutter broke…

Participated in a wonderful event: National Child Abuse Prevention Month and I look forward to doing it again this year.

After six years, I still can’t believe I am able to do what I love. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ~Carrie
